PEMBENTUKAN PENGHAYATAN PROFESIONALISME PENSYARAH KE ARAH MENDEPANI NILAI PERADABAN ISLAM

ABSTRAK
Artikel ini membincangkan pembentukan penghayatan profesionalisme pensyarah dalam konteks nilai peradaban Islam yang berperanan penting dalam membina budaya akademik berasaskan iman, islam dan insan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan kaedah analisis kandungan secara induktif dan tematik untuk mengenal pasti dimensi utama profesionalisme pensyarah berteraskan lima nilai peradaban Islam, iaitu ketuhanan, menyeluruh, keseimbangan nilai, ketinggian nilai dan identiti Islam. Hasil analisis mendapati bahawa profesionalisme pensyarah yang dibina atas dasar nilai ini mampu melahirkan pensyarah yang bukan sahaja cemerlang dari segi akademik tetapi juga beretika tinggi, berintegriti dan menjadi model insan berperadaban. Penghayatan profesionalisme yang berpaksikan nilai Islam ini bukan sahaja memperkukuh kualiti pengajaran dan penyelidikan, malah menyumbang secara langsung kepada pembangunan ummah dan tamadun negara. Kajian ini mencadangkan agar pemerkasaan nilai peradaban Islam dijadikan kerangka asas dalam latihan dan pembangunan profesional pensyarah di institusi pengajian tinggi.
ABSTRACT
This article discusses the development of lecturers’ professional ethos within the context of Islamic civilisational values, which play a crucial role in fostering an academic culture grounded in faith (iman), Islam, and humanity (insan). This study adopts a qualitative approach through inductive and thematic content analysis to identify the core dimensions of lecturer professionalism based on five Islamic civilisational values: divinity (ketuhanan), comprehensiveness (menyeluruh), value balance (keseimbangan nilai), value elevation (ketinggian nilai), and Islamic identity (identiti Islam). The analysis reveals that lecturer professionalism founded upon these values has the potential to produce educators who excel not only academically but also demonstrate high ethical standards, integrity, and serve as exemplary individuals of civilisation. The internalisation of professionalism anchored in Islamic values not only enhances the quality of teaching and research but also directly contributes to the development of the ummah and national civilisation. This study recommends that the empowerment of Islamic civilisational values be established as a foundational framework in lecturer training and professional development in institutions of higher learning.
